  10.  AB    Completed results from a global study on Care of PWHIV/PWA for the
  11.        publication of AIDS in the World, Vol.2, will be presented. While entire
  12.        populations are included in the study, emphasis will be on the care of
  13.        children with AIDS. The presentation will consist of two parts: I.
  14.        Delivery systems for the care of PWHIV/PWA. Applying data from
  15.        previously unpublished studies, a conceptual model of options for
  16.        delivering care to PWHIV/PWA is presented. The model provides a
  17.        framework for assessing the value of money of alternative levels of care
  18.        (i.e., hospital, home care, or hospice care). Cost-effectiveness data
  19.        and other empirical evidence is presented to support decision making
  20.        about investment into delivery systems for PWHIV/PWA care. II. The costs
  21.        of caring for PWHIV/PWA. Estimates of current and projected costs of
  22.        caring for PWHIV/PWA will be presented. A global survey was carried out
  23.        to National Programmes on AIDS and non-governmental AIDS programmes to
  24.        estimate total national expenditure for the care of PWHIV/PWA in a range
  25.        of settings (i.e., hospital, home care, or hospice care). This data is
  26.        presented and discussed within the framework of the model presented in
  27.        Part I.
